Matching envelopes

Right - this is all about an easy way I match envelopes to my cards.

First rule - it is usually easier to trim the card size to an envelope than find a suitable envelope to match a card, so if I see a bargain pack of interesting envelopes I go for them.

Here I've used a corner punch to decorate the pink envelope flap, and glued the punch-outs on, to enhance the decoupage lady. I could have done with a bit of bling too to emphasis bits, but where's the bally bling when you need it, eh ? or Googley eyes!

Sets of matching writing paper are a bonus and can be used for inserts, carrying the colour theme through, as below (purple).

.

The above two (totally mineown) were printed in an early issue of CardMaking and Papercrafts mag, which also does Quick Cards - and they also have some nice free downloads on their website.

Snapping

Right - here we go. This is my first real Card post.

I'm starting with some toppers and tags I made by using rub-ons on spare pieces of aida from my cross-stitching.

This is a trick I learned from Alan and Barry - of Rainbow Glass- when they were on Create and Craft way back when. They've got their own website now (type in alanandbarry and that will get you there) with fab free downloads and videos and stuff.

I was quite pleased with the results and sent the photo off to Quick Cards magazine (the rub offs were their freebies that month) who printed it and sent me some goodies!

This is how I used a decoupage print, free with my Card Creations magazine. They've got free downloads too from back issues of their mags.

A s you can maybe see, I used the main print on its own then sub-divided the second one to make two cards 3D-ed on isert back grounds - a mingieness (Harry insists that there's an 'e' in it) which warms my Scottish genes.

I was quite pleased with the result too.

Harry took the photos and says the experience was a real test of our marriage. But he got it right in the end.

That's where he said I should have got it.
