I well remember the days when I was only known as Thingmy's Mum, too.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaxw6V9Zf3CSxqSF1006494OF1ZbqCRnrRv7E8g3XLeV3hqZNlw8J0dH15vTTMKuj-DaM8VZHGjxP-CFCWaOsYPO9g-_OM7TVNBaw23Bl3qtHZuWPRsGevC6ee3D4-fhKRXhJcmdxmxqM/s1600-h/BIRTHDAYTOT+1.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5260874183404147954" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 199px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaxw6V9Zf3CSxqSF1006494OF1ZbqCRnrRv7E8g3XLeV3hqZNlw8J0dH15vTTMKuj-DaM8VZHGjxP-CFCWaOsYPO9g-_OM7TVNBaw23Bl3qtHZuWPRsGevC6ee3D4-fhKRXhJcmdxmxqM/s320/BIRTHDAYTOT+1.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRVWMV2BBRnO5NQezHB0uYEDCmNuZJsttnFR89OWBOF5ZFLV73X8_p_OD89PIyWNkJ81MBMCX34xM78qddsi-SbJ7dIBC1pJjc-TI9KS82a8gHuMjWpWhwZymzwxkm-L0IlaneOCG_MqE/s1600-h/BIRTHDAYTOT+1.JPG"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4wBHx3cEzgdlx2uAw-VTVRDZv6qbIS2NXnxvfupLYYuf0RDfVJdg48OlV6kdsKEfe_Cp6xd9gho0D_YlvBEk2rCXyym08ttAB0w2_wQrHKejf15VVfytYlNGbhooHmjbIKBX28JXqJws/s1600-h/BIRTHDAYTOT+2.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5260873717757692018" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 266px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4wBHx3cEzgdlx2uAw-VTVRDZv6qbIS2NXnxvfupLYYuf0RDfVJdg48OlV6kdsKEfe_Cp6xd9gho0D_YlvBEk2rCXyym08ttAB0w2_wQrHKejf15VVfytYlNGbhooHmjbIKBX28JXqJws/s320/BIRTHDAYTOT+2.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />I used cut-outs from old Disney Books, and posted it to her - and hoped she liked it as much as I enjoyed making it.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUK6B2QgilkDBwjJdaXDF6x3DbSbAz1uLStaePGSRE4wyE8cWtPySFxPMFFj28c8LjfRfmhl2QLC7jv80gchKbJIQaCs1gz561v0oDr-sdwlCihG-Smpw-X4KUvanHJDHqI1xY9lLtA2U/s1600-h/BIRTHDAYTOT+3.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5260873402100606930" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 318px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUK6B2QgilkDBwjJdaXDF6x3DbSbAz1uLStaePGSRE4wyE8cWtPySFxPMFFj28c8LjfRfmhl2QLC7jv80gchKbJIQaCs1gz561v0oDr-sdwlCihG-Smpw-X4KUvanHJDHqI1xY9lLtA2U/s320/BIRTHDAYTOT+3.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div>maritrezhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15664653073160124329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1666415338162049003.post-450988232176118312008-10-23T15:56:00.000-07:002008-10-25T17:30:15.563-07:00DIG THIS!I promised on the CB (craftsbeautiful.com) Forum that I would dig up my blog. I always meant to in the past but it was never a good day to do it. Tonight is not much better.<br /><br />I'm still jet-lagged from my three-week holiday in Canada; I am run ragged trying to catch up with the CB challenges; at Salsa on Monday there were a couple of mino mishaps due to the fact that Harry and I had totally forgotten the steps and the rhythm - you're not supposed to move on the fourth beat- wasn't a lot better; in Guitar class last night I was playing all the right shapes but making all the wrong sounds.<br /><br />And tonight at Digital Photography the Tutor actually dared to say that a cluttered PC desktop was sheer laziness (I didn't dare tell him it reflected the state of my living room) and slows up the works no end.<br /><br />So tonight I cleared my desktop (not the living room) and I can't find a thing in my documents. Harry kindly helped me to limp onto my blog. Thanks to the helpful experiences on CB I've managed to get my photo in the right place (after a year, this is)<br />So now I'm going to post a few of my makes and get to my bed.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5260487527481863970" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 310px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqIKLmctkBb3fHqw-qwEND24Q-XxzXhE_WQfH6crHnPH6BqEiZ2e67EGuJHL1w_MlyEmnhQ9bM9vSdS5r5AXfu9SePdtTUCZdnpJR0s8fB442JnZPqwEgoA-XJG8M0Q_ZzXPLTMgqzVs0/s320/MYSTITCH+1.jpg" border="0" /> <p>These are my own simple design – little flowery therapeutic makes from the leftovers of freebies from CrossStitcher. I have lots of CDs I can use for crafting. It all comes from wasting a lot of time trying to copy my pictures onto a CD rather than a DVD Rom. It is not my fault. They’re the same shape, with a hole in the middle, and both have the letter “D” and “Rom” in them.<br /><br /><br /><div></div></div>maritrezhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15664653073160124329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1666415338162049003.post-48791168222716547412007-08-04T14:45:00.001-07:002008-12-08T23:54:10.494-08:00Matching envelopesRight - this is all about an easy way I match envelopes to my cards.<br /><br />First rule - it is usually easier to trim the card size to an envelope than find a suitable envelope to match a card, so if I see a bargain pack of interesting envelopes I go for them.<br /><br /><br /><br />Here I've used a corner punch to decorate the pink envelope flap, and glued the punch-outs on, to enhance the decoupage lady. I could have done with a bit of bling too to emphasis bits, but where's the bally bling when you need it, eh ? or Googley eyes!<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5094965528797493218" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQUWFfg6UzufsZaNkj6hNy30t2QxTyEHI6LEXtB9BanrPskh5vd7z9S8Z6AfZAF0BR9YC2SlCRA6ymVy0ZBlRfQSYVc8zGXykB9BUkLOBD0P-OTv2xRv62roX99iXkU0_SfIeuLHsm32M/s320/cards+4+aug+015.jpg" border="0" /><br /><br /><br /><br />Sets of matching writing paper are a bonus and can be used for inserts, carrying the colour theme through, as below (purple).<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYcKci28FBPzv1CleRLHH0xJzSmCEMlzdwINNfn8cDfRdRuG8Hbli7lQq9GMee7Y8bPsJ2KrZSBbjVy_Vlg6-2PARa7x0_hTJG1IiRiS8qvcHYRbmSvoOpmUQgjjZHQlLUvlwvwiPzTEs/s1600-h/cards+4+aug+003.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5094965520207558594" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYcKci28FBPzv1CleRLHH0xJzSmCEMlzdwINNfn8cDfRdRuG8Hbli7lQq9GMee7Y8bPsJ2KrZSBbjVy_Vlg6-2PARa7x0_hTJG1IiRiS8qvcHYRbmSvoOpmUQgjjZHQlLUvlwvwiPzTEs/s320/cards+4+aug+003.jpg" border="0" /></a> .<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHDvDUXwcoSWYSycMlZPYjgfrKNUGQjB_Y0fJKyblVhqpSneXMeOovW-iHXe4IKfsXzlCq9zazFqNrRD5R75LqwBm4bgfAA7x0pc_L6W_Bl39MrJ5Z-vMIXmRWWXcVa80EdLTF7396iTY/s1600-h/cards+4+aug+014.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5094965524502525906" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHDvDUXwcoSWYSycMlZPYjgfrKNUGQjB_Y0fJKyblVhqpSneXMeOovW-iHXe4IKfsXzlCq9zazFqNrRD5R75LqwBm4bgfAA7x0pc_L6W_Bl39MrJ5Z-vMIXmRWWXcVa80EdLTF7396iTY/s320/cards+4+aug+014.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br />The above two (totally mineown) were printed in an early issue of CardMaking and Papercrafts mag, which also does Quick Cards - and they also have some nice free downloads on their website.maritrezhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15664653073160124329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1666415338162049003.post-22537236078082283572007-08-02T10:20:00.000-07:002008-12-08T23:54:10.795-08:00SnappingRight - here we go. This is my first real Card post.<br /><br />I'm starting with some toppers and tags I made by using rub-ons on spare pieces of aida from my cross-stitching.<br /><br />This is a trick I learned from Alan and Barry - of Rainbow Glass- when they were on Create and Craft way back when. They've got their own website now (type in alanandbarry and that will get you there) with fab free downloads and videos and stuff.<br /><br />I was quite pleased with the results and sent the photo off to Quick Cards magazine (the rub offs were their freebies that month) who printed it and sent me some goodies! <br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibyewbmqVr3UXSomea7UyuUHpEC8zFsW1odeE3TX8uNl37qsEkdninrhjQn9CZcNSZFgn0pDVeREb51Q2lQhliiMgs0fsWzYMdued0gYmK_k7A8Ob70VXcxJ_P71eqHVAwwk23h3RPGcs/s1600-h/MY+(18).jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5094156288239450018" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibyewbmqVr3UXSomea7UyuUHpEC8zFsW1odeE3TX8uNl37qsEkdninrhjQn9CZcNSZFgn0pDVeREb51Q2lQhliiMgs0fsWzYMdued0gYmK_k7A8Ob70VXcxJ_P71eqHVAwwk23h3RPGcs/s320/MY+(18).jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br />This is how I used a decoupage print, free with my Card Creations magazine. They've got free downloads too from back issues of their mags.<br /><br />A s you can maybe see, I used the main print on its own then sub-divided the second one to make two cards 3D-ed on isert back grounds - a mingieness (Harry insists that there's an 'e' in it) which warms my Scottish genes.<br /><br />I was quite pleased with the result too.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTxbgCpeEPYCCPn35t7TrnidZnEmbIT6b_258XjjV9SDKyf9uh9w_xj5ymRsIrL0CBWGBO5YpCE4T9VpQL0SuNkB8Um4Upc2kcP4-8fusTSke8Yba6o3NJ20Jfsk8qvaJsKZhRZJDfn68/s1600-h/MY+(5).JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5094156292534417330" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTxbgCpeEPYCCPn35t7TrnidZnEmbIT6b_258XjjV9SDKyf9uh9w_xj5ymRsIrL0CBWGBO5YpCE4T9VpQL0SuNkB8Um4Upc2kcP4-8fusTSke8Yba6o3NJ20Jfsk8qvaJsKZhRZJDfn68/s320/MY+(5).JPG" border="0" /></a>Harry took the photos and says the experience was a real test of our marriage. But he got it right in the end.</p><br /><p>That's where he said I should have got it.</p><br /><p><br /></p>maritrezhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15664653073160124329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1666415338162049003.post-20958506930506285652007-07-31T15:49:00.000-07:002008-12-08T23:54:10.993-08:00First Day<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBoPc_zOYpSYK478hcQ2dEbFNf_WBahKil4pN3zipDpVZ2b1aUhck6-RC1kXxpcnyapBJt4yLFZXyLEBBCWFcXgkYQ3TeJhbwjZteWzT6p_vKn9z1A3Q685uPnAZysi1WHIdZICNf6jQQ/s1600-h/MY+(14)a.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5093501314316744594" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBoPc_zOYpSYK478hcQ2dEbFNf_WBahKil4pN3zipDpVZ2b1aUhck6-RC1kXxpcnyapBJt4yLFZXyLEBBCWFcXgkYQ3TeJhbwjZteWzT6p_vKn9z1A3Q685uPnAZysi1WHIdZICNf6jQQ/s320/MY+(14)a.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><span style="font-family:arial;">Hi, anybody out there. </span></div><br /><div><span style="font-family:arial;">I decided to set up a blog for my cards but I'm not so great at it. What I need is a young and tasty computer hot-shot to hold my hand while I'm trying to translate instructions into necessary action (words like "account" bring me out in a cold sweat because in my experience it has always meant money!) but I've only got Harry. Well daughter offered if we got stuck, muttering more frightening jargon like "photo bucket" (pronounced "bouquet"?) but Harry managed to get my picture up all on his own. </span></div><br /><div><span style="font-family:arial;">"See, it's a Man Thing," he said. </span></div><br /><div><span style="font-family:arial;">So - how would he know?</span></div><br /><div><span style="font-family:Arial;">Anyway, why keep a dog and bark yourself, is what I always say.</span></div><br /><div><span style="font-family:Arial;">While he did that I was having a traumatic time with my knitting, having ironed acrylic wool with a steam iron (a no- no if ever there was one) tearfully ripping out and re-knitting the damaged back of a wee jacket because I knew I couldn't live with it. it doesn't look too good re-knitted with the same wool either but it's all I've got (like Harry) and it's the best I can do.</span></div><br /><div><span style="font-family:Arial;">It's a man's world.</span></div><br /><div><span style="font-family:Arial;">"Do you want to post you cards up?" he says now.</span></div><br /><div><span style="font-family:Arial;">No. I'm exausted with all that angst, which is sufficient unto the day.
